MEET JOY
Oregonian by nurture and Texan by nature, this culinary artist is anything but ordinary. Of her varied activities, (including line-dancing, stand-up comedy, embroidery and sock puppet making) baking has been the one that became a compulsion rather than a hobby. Joy transforms confections with playful custom designs that surprise and delight her clients.
Since launching Sweet Joyness Bakery from her home kitchen in 2007, Joy has created countless edible masterpieces for nearly every milestone, holiday and event.
Joy holds her Associates of Art from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts-Portland and has worked with award-winning local bakeries, including Helen Bernard Bakery, Kyra’s Bakeshop and Marsee, among others.
CUSTOMER REVIEWS
“Joy made my custom 30th birthday cake. To say she delivered is an understatement! When we first chatted about what type of cake I liked I commented I loved “Funfetti” and she responded that it should make a fun 30th birthday cake that was more adult than Funfetti but with all the childhood whimsy that Funfetti encapsulates.
”Joy created a brownie-Funfetti cookie dough cake with “30” written out in sprinkles. It was beautiful and most important - it was DELICIOUS! Thanks, Joy! ”
“When my husband and I decided to do a destination wedding in Ireland, we still wanted to bring a touch of our lives in New York City into the occasion.
”Joy was brilliant. She worked with us to make gorgeous custom cookies favors that brought to life some of our favorite local spots and tasted amazing! ”
